Blank Studio case study

Blank Studio — project overview

01Overview

Blank rents out a whole studio by the slot, to freelancers, businesses and content companies. I built the front end: the right-to-left Persian public site, the booking flow, the customer panel and the admin panel, with one other developer reworking the loader and intro motion. The backend is a separate API that is not connected yet, so the customers, bookings and figures in these panels are sample data, and the photos on the film strip stand in until the studio's own work arrives.

02The challenge

Blank means empty space, and the brand holds to that: one gray, one small orange accent, one corner cut from every frame. The panels behind it are anything but empty — three account types with different rules, wallet hours, contracts and cheques, shifts, closures and waitlists. All of that had to stay readable in the same restrained language, in Persian, right to left.

Blank Studio — A film strip, then a price

03A film strip, then a price

The stretch of the home page shown here takes the brand's idea literally. Sample work sits in a strip of dark film that moves sideways as the page scrolls, grayscale until hovered, and the plans follow with a weekday and weekend switch that tweens the prices. Every plan button goes straight into the booking flow with that plan already chosen.

Blank Studio — A panel built around the next session

04A panel built around the next session

The customer dashboard shown here gives its one dark panel to the next session: a live countdown, where it falls in the day's shifts, and the buttons for its details and directions. The hour wallet, upcoming bookings and calendar sit around it, and the panel itself changes with the account: a freelancer gets a wallet, a business books by the hour, and a company sees its contract hours.

Blank Studio — The studio's day at a glance

05The studio's day at a glance

The admin dashboard shown here opens on the month's figures, then gives its dark panel to today: each session with its status, and attendance buttons for a free tour. Beside it is what waits on the studio, such as a coordination request or a cancellation, each with the button that settles it. The week's shifts show how full the coming days are.

Blank Studio — A week you can book into

06A week you can book into

The calendar in this close-up lays out a week from Saturday, with the break between shifts and closed time hatched. Solid blocks are confirmed bookings, outlined ones are waiting on payment, and a free hour is a button that opens a manual booking at that time, for customers who book by phone and pay in person or on credit.

Blank Studio — Reports without a rainbow

07Reports without a rainbow

The reports page shown here stays as monochrome as the rest: the current month in ink and the others muted, identity carried by labels instead of colour. A period and an account type filter the sales, the share by account and the fill by weekday and shift, and each report exports to a CSV that opens correctly in Excel.

Blank Studio — The same system on a phone

08The same system on a phone

The screens shown here are the home page, the customer panel and the admin panel at phone width. The sidebar becomes a tab bar along the bottom, with the admin's longer list folded under a More item, and the booking button stays in the header, so the studio can work from a phone as well as a desk.
