Zarbedar case study

Zarbedar — project overview

01Overview

Zarbedar is a script for selling melted gold: a dealer buys it, sets their brand, and gets a mobile web app and a landing page under their own name — buying and selling by the gram, a wallet, coins, a jewellery shop, savings plans and physical delivery. I am the main contributor to its Nuxt front end. Eldora, earlier in this portfolio, is one of the brands built on it.

02The challenge

Whoever buys the script has to feel it is their own site, and a recoloured button does not do that — the surfaces, corners, icons and type all have to move. It also has to be their site from the very first frame: the app is a client-rendered SPA, so without care every visit would open on the default look and flash to the tenant's a moment later.

Zarbedar — One setting, a different product

03One setting, a different product

The screens shown here are the same home page under five style presets. Each preset is a named bundle of design tokens switched by a single attribute on the root, and it changes the accent, the tint of the surfaces, the corner radius, the illustration set and even the shape of the bottom navigation — without a component knowing which one is active. The server paints the tenant's preset and colour ramp into the first HTML, so the app boots on-brand.

Zarbedar — Light and dark under every preset

04Light and dark under every preset

Dark mode is a separate axis, shown here for two presets side by side. A preset owns hue, tint, radius and shadow; dark mode owns only lightness. Because the two never write the same tokens, every preset works in both modes without a dark variant having to be designed for each one.

Zarbedar — Trading that knows the market

05Trading that knows the market

The trading screens shown here are the live price with its hourly-to-monthly chart, a buy and sell form with its own keypad, and limit orders that show how far the price still is from each target. When the market is closed, the trade screen says when it reopens rather than just refusing the order.

Zarbedar — Wallet, shop and delivery

06Wallet, shop and delivery

These screens are where the gold ends up: the wallet with its toman balance, holdings and transactions; the jewellery shop, which also has a public storefront that search engines can index; and physical delivery, which turns a balance in grams into a bar in hand in three steps.
